Who we are
Daniel Jones, the passionate owner of Rack Springs Farm, founded his operation out of a lifelong love for whitetail deer, cultivated through years as an avid outdoorsman and deer hunter. Growing up, Daniel’s time in the wild sparked a deep appreciation for these majestic animals, but it was the science-backed benefits of venison that solidified his vision—studies, like those from the Journal of Food Science (2018), show venison is leaner, lower in fat and cholesterol, and higher in protein and essential nutrients than most meats, making it a healthier choice. Sustainability also drove his mission; research, such as a 2022 Sustainability journal analysis, highlights deer farming’s lower carbon footprint compared to traditional livestock. Daniel started Rack Springs Farm to provide a sustainable meat supply for his family and friends, with plans to expand into public sales. Beyond nutrition, he aimed to teach his children sustainable farming methods and instill a strong work ethic through farm chores—values he cherished from his own upbringing. Tired of chasing whitetails across the wilderness and missing time with his loved ones, Daniel decided to bring the bucks to his front yard, blending his passion with family life and creating a legacy of health, sustainability, and hard work..
